# What is Mira

> Mira is an AI recruitment agent. Describe a role, and it delivers a shortlist of qualified candidates with profiles, contact info, and AI summaries.

Mira is an AI agent that executes recruiting work for you. You describe what you need; it handles searching, matching, and delivering a candidate shortlist. It pauses at decisions you should make, and picks up your working style over time.

Recruiting is where it goes deepest today. The same architecture applies to other professional workflows. More on that as we ship.

How Mira works with you [#how-mira-works-with-you]

Most AI products give you a better interface to do the same work. Mira is different:

Describe what you need, and Mira executes, searching, evaluating, and delivering results without you managing each step. At key decision points, it pauses and asks. You stay in control of the judgment calls.

What Mira does for recruiting [#what-mira-does-for-recruiting]

Recruiting is where Mira goes deepest today. Key capabilities:

Candidate data acquisition [#candidate-data-acquisition]

Aggregates candidate data from multiple structured and unstructured sources. The Mira Browser Extension can also supplement results with additional web sources while you browse.

Contact details delivered with your shortlist [#contact-details-delivered-with-your-shortlist]

Each candidate card shows their LinkedIn (always available), plus email and phone where data exists. Fields without data appear greyed out.

Recruiting skills [#recruiting-skills]

Mira Agent learns how you evaluate candidates, the implicit standards keyword search can't capture (like "built a team from zero to one" or specific industry backgrounds) : and factors them into every search. Your judgment accumulates into reusable Skills, so Mira gets more aligned with how you and your team hire over time.

Reasoning-based matching [#reasoning-based-matching]

MRE (Mira Reasoning Embedding) currently ranks first on the BRIGHT benchmark for reasoning retrieval, first in the Embedding category and first overall.

What you can do today [#what-you-can-do-today]

<img alt="Mira's task screen, describe a role in your own words" src="__img0" />

Right now, Mira's primary use case is talent sourcing:

* **Describe a role in your own words**: including implicit criteria like "startup DNA" or "has built something from scratch".
* **Get a shortlist with profiles, AI summaries, work history, and contact details**: default 20 candidates; specify a different number in your description.
* **Refine through conversation**: "more startup backgrounds" or "include Amsterdam too".
* **Download structured data**: import into your ATS or spreadsheet, or share with the hiring manager.
* **Use the Mira Browser Extension** to extend your reach to platforms Mira's built-in sources don't cover.
