> Let Mira operate your own Chrome browser in a dedicated task tab, reaching sites and sign-ins that aren't in Mira's built-in sources.

The Mira Browser Extension lets Mira operate your own Chrome browser to reach information that isn't in its built-in sources, like sites that need a sign-in. It works in a dedicated tab in your browser, using your own logins, so you can watch what it does and step in whenever you want.

What you can use it for [#what-you-can-use-it-for]

* **Browse a site you name.** Give Mira a specific website you want visited and it browses it for you, then brings back what it found.
* **Reach candidates behind a sign-in.** Open a recruiting site you're logged into and Mira reads profiles, then brings qualified candidates back for matching.
* **Research companies and teams.** Ask about a company's leadership, recent funding, or who's on a specific team, and Mira gathers it from the live web.
* **Reach other SaaS tools you're signed into.** Mira works through your own browser session, so it can reach your ATS, CRM, or other accounts you're already logged into.

Install and connect [#install-and-connect]

1. Find **Mira Browser Extension** on the [Chrome Web Store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/mira-chrome-extension/eehnmnpglnfhkkcepfdlnnolobnjfcoh) and click **Add to Chrome**.
2. The Task input shows a small extension button with its current status: **Detecting**, **Not installed**, **Not connected** (with a **Connect**, **Authorize**, or **Update** action depending on what's needed), or **Connected**.
3. The first time Mira needs your browser, it asks for a one-time authorization. Review what you're granting and click **Agree and continue**; it's remembered after that, so there's nothing to set up per Task.

If the extension isn't ready when a Task needs it, Mira shows a card that walks you through installing, authorizing, or reconnecting, then picks the Task back up on its own once you're connected.

Using it in a Task [#using-it-in-a-task]

Just type what you need done in your Task. Mira decides on its own when browsing is the best way to get what you need, then works in a dedicated tab in your own browser. When the extension is connected, its button also works as an optional toggle for the current turn: leave it off and Mira decides, or turn it on to have Mira prefer the browser this time.

If Mira hits a step that needs you, like signing in with a username and password, a CAPTCHA, or a two-factor prompt, it **pauses and shows a Continue button** and waits. You can also take over the tab yourself at any point; Mira waits and resumes when you click **Continue**. You can open **View Browser Session** to watch it work, and sensitive actions, like a payment, a deletion, or sending something, always ask for your confirmation first.

Works with your team [#works-with-your-team]

Agent Team members can use the extension to browse too. You grant browser access once, up front, and the team members Mira spins up for the Task can use the extension the same way, in your browser.

Platform compliance [#platform-compliance]

Many recruiting platforms have terms of service that restrict automated access. The Extension is built to work within reasonable usage patterns, but responsibility for complying with third-party platform terms rests with you. We recommend using it for targeted, specific searches rather than bulk scraping, and keeping your own platform accounts in good standing.

Privacy and security [#privacy-and-security]

* Mira uses your own browser and your own logins, only in the task's dedicated tab, not your other tabs.
* Mira doesn't store your passwords or cookies; it works through the session you're already signed into.
* Sensitive actions ask for your confirmation first, and every action is logged and viewable.
* The Extension is currently Chrome only.
* All data handling follows Mira's [Privacy Policy](/en/docs/match-quality-and-trust/privacy-policy).
